A new rental platform providing a lifeline for Australian tenants priced out of the private market has expanded its eligibility criteria, allowing more residents long-term housing options.
The move will ensure more families are able to access affordable housing options, allowing them to unpack and put long-term roots down.
The rental stock handled by Essence Homes is targeted toward middle-income earners who are increasingly priced out of the private rental market.
In addition to the initial eligibility criteria, the policy has introduced the following new household options, which may allow more applicants to qualify for our properties:
- 2 adults can now apply for a 3-bedroom home.
- 1 adult and 1 dependent can now apply for a 3-bedroom home.
- 2 adults and 1 dependent can now apply for a 4-bedroom home.
- 1 adult and 2 dependents can now apply for a 4-bedroom home.
- 4 adults can now apply for a 3-bedroom or 4-bedroom home.
Previously, the above cohorts were precluded from the rent-reduced program, but it’s increasingly clear that rising rents and short-term leases make it hard for Aussies to put down roots.
These expanded criteria will help more Australians in need their chance at long-term housing security.
Knowing that no two households are the same, the stock on the Essence Homes platform offers a mix of suburban family homes, townhouses and inner-city apartments.
These options ensure renters can find affordable housing options that match their lifestyle, location preferences, and household size.
Applications are now open for a raft of properties on the Essence Homes platform, with more to come online in stages.
